Wilson was a renowned courtesan who began her career aged 15 as mistress to the Earl of Craven, later setting up formal arrangements with the Duke of Wellington and other important politicians. Three of her sisters also followed the family trade. Indeed Harriette complained that her friend the Duke of Argyl had been persuaded by her sister Amy to switch his affections away from Harriette. . . . . . NOTE that the volume weighs just over 1kg and may therefore be subject to a carriage supplement for overseas (but not domestic UK) orders, the amount depending on destination and service chosen.

Her decision to publish was partly based on the broken promises of her lovers to provide her with an income in her older age. / With illustrations & an introduction by the editor. / This is a cloth-bound 'reprinted' hardback, with its slip-case in near to fine condition.
